a Playwright and Screenwriter, Theatre Educator, Director, and Intimacy Director with special interest in creating consent based and collaborative theatrical environments and practices, the reification of classical text, and sustaining, nurturing and amplifying the voice of the performer to tell truthful and important stories.
As a Theatre Practitioner, I believe in community, intensity, communication, and staying with the hard moments. I believe theatre makers tell stories nobody else can. I believe in the divine madness, within its sacred container.
I have been a theatre educator for 25 years and have used theatre as a tool to work with children and adults in a variety of contexts to create new theatre out of original stories, produce established texts, and empower performers and theatre makers at all levels to share their voices with the world. Under my direction, my students have produced award-winning original plays and I am pleased to count among my former students professional actors who have worked in film and television and on Broadway, teachers, attorneys, entrepreneurs, psychologists, writers and people working in tech who know the value of a good story and how to communicate it.
